The Highly Anticipated 2018 Honda Pilot is Heading to the Market Very Soon

2018 Honda Pilot Specs

Honda is committed to show its strength in the SUV market by launching 2018 Honda Pilot. It is actually still a year away, but its promising specifications definitely deserve an early hype. Pilot is one of Honda’s most popular SUVs since 2002 and the new model is set to help the Japanese automaker earns more market share in the competitive market of SUV.

2018 Honda Pilot will not get any noteworthy changes for the exterior. So, let’s expect the classic low front end, round edges and maybe the 18” alloy wheels.

As for the interior, it seems like Honda will not reserve any surprises for the 2018 model. But it is not going to be a huge problem since the current Pilot already has all the good stuff. For starters, this model is a little bit more spacious compared to the other similar midsize crossover in this class.

Some of the cabin components that will make a comeback in the 2018 model might include the rearview camera, telescoping steering wheel, and satellite radio. A larger display compared to the current 5” will be good, but let’s not expect too much.

Engine Specifications

Just like the current model, 2018 Pilot will arrive with 5 trim levels—LX, EX, EX-L, Touring and Elite. The engine will not be changed as well. It means, we are going to meet the usual 3.5 L V6 unit, which generates the same 280 HP at 6,000 RPM and 262 lb. feet of torque at 4,700 RPM. The information on the rumor mill said that the new Pilot will come with two different options of transmission. The first one is 6-speed automatic transmission and the second one is 9-speed automatic transmission with Paddle Shifters and Shifts-by-Wire. But it seems like the second transmission will be reserved for the higher end trims.

Even though the engine and the power are not changed, it doesn’t mean that there will be no improvement in 2018 Pilot’s performance. The 3.5 L V6 engine is known to be very powerful and it is tweaked to deliver a better fuel economy than the older Pilot models.

Price and Release Date

There is a high possibility that 2018 Honda Pilot will be available in North American market sometime in the third quarter of 2018. As for the price, it seems like we are looking at $35,000 to $48,000 price tag, which is quite similar with the current Pilot.
